ALLENTOWN CENTRAL CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL COLUMN
The Central Catholic theater program presented the school’s spring musical “Anything Goes” April 20, 21 and 22. Over 70 students, cast and crew, worked for months to put on an incredible show. Four of the leading actors will represent Allentown Central Catholic High School in the opening number at the Freddy Awards May 25 on WFMZ-TV. Cast, crew and school eagerly await the nominations for the awards, which will be announced in mid-May.
Advanced Placement testing began May 1. Students taking an exam must pay the $95 cost per exam by the day of the examination; checks are made payable to ACCHS. Report times and test locations are posted outside of the guidance office.
The annual Side-by-Side concert will be held 5 p.m. May 6. All partner school band and chorus members in grades six through eight are invited to ACCHS for the day, beginning 8:30 a.m. to learn and prepare music for the concert that evening. Spring sports awards will take place after school Mass 9:45 a.m. May 11. Members of the baseball, softball, lacrosse, track and field and boys tennis teams will receive their varsity letters and MVPs and EPC scholar athlete nominees will be recognized. Family members are invited to attend both Mass and the award ceremony
Central Catholic’s junior and senior prom begins 5 p.m. May 12. The dance will be held in Billera Hall at DeSales University and will end 10 p.m. Students will not be permitted to leave early without a written parental note.
Freshman orientation will take place 6 to 8 p.m. May 16. Incoming freshmen are encouraged to attend to learn important information for next school year, as well as to meet teachers, administrators, coaches and upperclassmen.
