Bernadette Jerry is asking for your vote as tax collector in the Borough of Emmaus May 16.

Jerry said she brings the following qualifications and experience to the position of tax collector. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics in 1986.

She was the controller of Dynasty Metals in New Jersey for eight years and was the administrator of a $2 million line of credit while managing all aspects of accounting and bookkeeping.

Jerry served local Lehigh Valley business owners as a bookkeeper using either Quickbooks or Peach Tree.

She is CEO of the Jerry household (mother, coach, referee, manager, librarian, teacher, chef, nurse, maid....the list goes on).

“I am the proud parent of two Emmaus High School graduates,” Jerry said. The family moved to Emmaus 20 years ago because, “I wanted to raise my boys in a great family-oriented community and Emmaus has not disappointed us.”

Jerry said education has always been a priority in her home. JD was a Lehigh Scholar and graduated with a chemical engineering degree. JD is an accomplished 4th Degree Black-belt.

Charlie is currently finishing his junior year at DeSales University majoring in psychology with minors in business and ethical leadership. He played volleyball and soccer for Emmaus and is currently playing soccer for DeSales.

“I am a very detailed person.” Jerry said. “I am focused and want to serve my community. I have a diligent work ethic and am goal oriented.

“My goal is to be your new tax collector. As tax collector I will be available to everyone in this community. I look forward to serving you with accuracy and efficiency.

“Please write-in my name if I am not on your ballot. I believe in voting for the person best suited for the job. I sincerely appreciate your consideration and vote May 16 for this very important position in our municipality.”
