By MARGARET FLECK

The annual National Honor Society Coffeehouse fundraiser took place April 5. Students had the chance to perform musical and other talent based acts for the crowd, either individually or in a group. The award for best individual act went to Yuehao Liu for his piano performance of “Fantasia Impromptu” and best duo or group went to Abby Garza and Claudia Rosado for their vocal/piano performance of “She Used to be Mine” from the musical “Waitress.”

A garage band comprised of seniors Luke Eberwein, Justin Burda and Dalton Bassert won fan favorite for their performance of an original song.

Allentown Central Catholic High School’s spring musical, “Anything Goes” will show this weekend, April 20 to 22. There will be a 2 p.m. matinee April 22 and 7 p.m. shows April 20, 21 and 22.

“Anything Goes” revolves around a crew of motley characters sailing on a ship called the S.S. American and is full of song, dance, love and laughter. The ACCHS musical cast and crew have spent many hours perfecting this play and are excited to finally put all their hard work on the stage. Tickets are available online via acchs.info.

On April 24, there will be a mandatory drug and alcohol awareness program for all students and parents of students attending the prom. There will be a presentation in school 9:30 a.m. and another 6:30 p.m. Prom tickets will then be distributed to parents after both parent and student have attended a presentation.
