STUDENT OF THE WEEK

Q. In what grade are you?

A. I am in 12th grade at Emmaus High School.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. Calculus, because I enjoy math and am planning on majoring in the subject in college.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I’ve received some miscellaneous smaller awards, the most recent being my partner and I placing first in business ethics at a Future Business Leaders of America regional conference.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?

A. I am captain of Emmaus’ Debate and Academic teams and play the cello in my school’s pit and chamber orchestras.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. Finishing my undergraduate studies at the University of Rochester.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. Balancing helping run two clubs, a job and a large load of schoolwork in the fall.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. My sense of humor and my taste in music.

Q. Who is in your family?

A. My parents are Brian and Dawn, my sisters are Caity and Maggie, and my pets are two basset hounds named Izzy and Sherlock.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. I admire Richard Feynman for balancing genius and a great sense of humor. I also admire my parents for working hard to get where they are.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. Don’t be afraid to be unabashedly passionate of something and listen to as much music as you can.
