The Allentown Band, under Conductor Ronald Demkee, will hold a “Women in Music” concert 3 p.m. April 23 at Zion Reformed “Liberty Bell” Church, 620 W. Hamilton St., Allentown.

Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Liberty Bell Museum next to the church or at the door.

Proceeds will benefit the Liberty Bell Shrine.

SISTER CITY

There will be a Cherry Blossom Festival noon to 5 p.m. April 22 in the Garden of Serenity next to the Bethlehem Public Library at Sakon Place.

There will be food, children’s crafts, a tea ceremony, Japanese traditional dress to try on and a display of artifacts given to Bethlehem by its sister city, Tondabayashi, Japan.

Penn State Lehigh Valley will hold a Walk A Mile in Her Shoes event noon April 24 at the campus sports court, 2809 Saucon Valley Road, Center Valley.

About 50 male faculty, staff and students will wear red heels on a symbolic march to stand up against sexual assault while other student groups cheer them on.

The event is held to raise awareness of and to protest against gender violence.
