District news: Middle school band plans performance

Northampton Area Middle School will host a band concert 7 p.m. tomorrow in the middle school gymnasium.

The high school band concert is scheduled for 7 p.m. April 28 at the high school.

The George Wolf Elementary PTA book fair will be held April 25-28. Students will bring home a flyer for parents to review.

Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) is a standardized test administered to public schools in the state of Pennsylvania.

Math testing will begin in the district next week for students in grades 3 through 8.

Parents are encouraged to be sure students are in attendance and on time to school during the testing.

Students are encouraged to get to bed early and eat a good breakfast.

Race Against Hate 5K Color Run/Walk, a project of Northampton Area High School’s National Honor Society, will be held May 13.

Registration is 10 a.m. at Wolf Field, across the street from NAHS on Laubach Avenue.

The race begins 11 a.m. The course will move through the borough, connect to the Nor-Bath Trail and return to Wolf Field.

Spectators are welcome. There will be music, food and raffles.

Awards and prizes will be awarded for winning male, winning female and winning child (12 and under).

Proceeds will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Allentown, as well as Teach Anti-Bullying Inc.

A registration form is available at nasdschools.org. There is a discount if you register before April 28.
