James E. Heim, 52, formerly of Emmaus, died peacefully in his sleep April 6, 2017, in his home in Hughesville, Md., following an extended battle with cancer. He was the husband of Cindy (Allison) Heim. They were married for 27 years. Born in Emmaus, he was the son of Doris Ann (Spotts) Heim, of Emmaus and the late John Heim Jr.
He was a 1983 graduate of Emmaus High School and Penn State University where he received his bachelor’s degree in engineering. His profession took him to Allentown, Connecticut, Perkasie and finally Hughesville in Charles County, Md., where he and his wife spent the last 19 years.
He was employed by Sonalysts, Inc., for the entire period spanning his Connecticut, Perkasie and Maryland residences.
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Emmaus.
He is survived by his wife; mother; mother-in-law, Nancy Allison; brother, John Alan (Gloria); sister-in-law, Debbie Caldwell; brothers-in-law, Richard Allison and Keith Allison (Deb) and many other relatives and friends.

A private prayer service is to be announced at a later date.
