Robert F. DiGirolamo Sr., 90, formerly of Springfield, Delaware County, died April 5, 2017, in Arden Courts, Allentown.

He was the husband of the late Julia M. (Monte) DiGirolamo.

Born Oct. 20, 1926, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Cautilli) DiGirolamo.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II with a rank of technical sergeant.

A graduate of The University of Pennsylvania with a Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, he was an aerospace engineer for General Electric, Valley Forge, for 35 years before retiring.

He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Springfield.

His survivors include children Diane M. Vogel and her husband, Gregory, of Herndon, Va., Janice C. Peterson and her husband, Brent, of Allentown, Julia T. Stewart and her husband, Marvin, of Tabernacle, N.J., Robert F. Jr. of Medford, N.J.; brothers John of Indiana, Ronald and his wife, Joanne, of Quakertown; grandchildren Gregory and David Vogel, Megan Heft, Lauren Peterson, Timothy Peterson, Zachary and Jordan Stewart; and great-grandson Jacob Gregory Vogel.
