Garden classes
Penn State
Penn State Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners are offering the following classes in Lehigh and Northampton counties.
Rain Barrel
Workshop
Save water by installing a rain barrel! On April 22, join Master Gardeners and Master Watershed Stewards for a rain barrel workshop at the Whitehall Township public works garage, 3219 MacArthur Road, Whitehall.
This workshop will guide you through the process of constructing your own, fully functioning rain barrel.
Hot Pots
Learn how to add more color inside and out with container gardens!
This workshop will be held 6:30-8:30 p.m. April 27 at Calvary Baptist Church, 4601 Tilghman St., Allentown.
Speaker Kirk Brown will review all the elements and principles of design to create convenient and contemporary containers in five easy steps.
From siting and selection to soil improvements and water tips, this program will suggest lifestyle additions for maximum garden impact.
Children’s
Workshop
Join our Master Gardeners for a free children’s workshop 10-11 a.m. May 13 at the Burnside Plantation in Bethlehem.
They’ll have bug bingo for the kids to learn interesting facts about bugs, and just in time for Mother’s Day, participants will decorate a container, plant a flower and personalize a note card.
This workshop is geared for children ages 6 to 12.
There is a cost for each workshop.
