Firefighters battle house fire

Volunteer firefighters were called out to a house fire at 5849 Memorial Road, Germansville, on Monday.

Germansville, New Tripoli, Neffs and Weisenberg volunteer fire departments, responded along with Northern Valley Emergency Medical Services.

According to Lehigh County assessment records, the home is owned by Monica M. Miller.

Goodwill Fire Company, Germansville, Chief Jay Scheffler told The Press the fire was contained to a single room, a bedroom, on the west side of the home, although the rest of the structure sustained smoke and water damage.

“There was excellent work by all fire departments which helped,” Scheffler said.

No injuries were reported and State Police Fire Marshal Mike Book is handling the investigation, Scheffler added.
