Skills challenge on April 29

Area students are invited to put their athletic abilities to the test by competing in the 2017 KB Cougars Draft Day Skills Challenge 10:15 a.m. April 29 at Kutztown Middle School, 10 Diesher Lane, Kutztown.

The skills competition is modeled after the NFL Combine and features various running, jumping and throwing challenges.

The challenge is open to all boys and girls in kindergarten through grade 12 from all areas.

Participants will compete against others in their respective age group with only the best taking home a prize.

A big screen TV will be tuned into the 2017 NFL Draft all day.

In addition, a special guest from Recruit Me Next, a sports recruiting company offering assistance to high school athletes interested in obtaining a collegiate scholarship, will be there to speak about what college athletic recruiters look for in an athlete.

To preregister for the event, go to leaguelineup.com or register the day of the event between 9-10 a.m.

All registration fees include an event T-shirt and lunch the day of the competition.
