District news: Spring photos set for Steckel students
Spring picture day at Steckel Elementary is set for March 31. All students will have their pictures taken, but purchasing is an option.

Parents and guardians may begin the process of kindergarten registration in Whitehall-Coplay School District. An online registration is available at whitehallcoplay.org. After the form is complete, select a date and time to meet with the enrollment secretary, Mrs. Michelle Khouri, to present all the required documentation. To complete the registration, parents and guardians will be given an appointment to bring their child to meet with the guidance counselor or principal, school nurse, ESOL teacher and reading specialist for a brief assessment at Gockley Elementary April 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7, with a snow make-up day of April 10.
Your child must be 5 years old before Sept. 1, 2017.

The third marking period will end April 3. Report cards will be distributed April 12.

The Pennsylvania System of School Assessment is a standardized test administered to public schools in the state of Pennsylvania. Testing will begin in the district next week for grades 3-8. The first week of testing will focus on English and language arts.
Parents are encouraged to be sure students are in attendance and also on time to school during the testing weeks.
Students are encouraged to get to bed early and be sure to eat a good breakfast.

Whitehall High School will present its spring musical “Monty Python’s Spamalot” 7 p.m. April 6-8 and 2 p.m. April 9 in the Whitehall High School auditorium. Tickets for adults are $12; tickets for students and seniors are $10. Purchase tickets by calling the hotline, 610-437-5081, ext. 93270. Tickets also are available for purchase 9 a.m.-noon April 1 at the box office in the high school lobby.

Schools will be closed for spring break April 14 -17.
