Stella M. Shigo, 96, formerly of Palmerton, died peacefully March 17, 2017, in The Lutheran Home of Topton, Berks County.

She was the wife of the late Edmund I. Shigo who died in 1985.

Born in Palmerton, she was a daughter of the late Onuffer and Fannie (Konek) Mazikanish.

She was employed by the former Western Electric Corp., Allentown, in the microchip processing/gold plating department before retiring in 1984.

She and her late husband owned and operated the former Palm Grill, Delaware Avenue, Palmerton.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Palmerton.

An avid golfer, she was a member of Blue Ridge Country Club. She also enjoyed bowling.

Her survivors include a daughter, Debra S., wife of William Barthold of Macungie; sons Ed A. and wife, Jody, of Palmerton, Scott D. and wife, Cheryl, of Brookeville, Md.; grandchildren Jason, Spencer, Cole and Annie; nieces and nephews.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. March 25 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 243 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton.

Call 10-11 a.m. Saturday in church.

Interment will be in the parish’s new cemetery, Stoney Ridge Road, Palmerton.
