Elizabeth Weed, of Allentown and an eighth grade student at St. Thomas More School, is exhibiting her artwork in Luzerne County’s Suzanne Maria Rossetti Memorial Juried Art Exhibit for grades seven through 12 at Luzerne County Community College, Nanticoke.
Weed’s three entries were juried into the exhibit by a panel of judges and each entry won a blue ribbon in its category: ink, watercolor and colored pencil.
Weed also received four special gift certificate awards including the Award for Promising Future, Walter Golubieski Memorial Award for Excellence in Wildlife, Award for Excellence in Pen & Ink - grades seven, eight, nine and the Award for Triple Blue, three first place ribbons on three entries.
Weed studies art with Sue Hand, of Dallas, and works in various drawing and painting mediums. Weed regularly exhibits her artwork and participates in art competitions.
The Rossetti Art Exhibit continues 9 a.m. to 5 p.m weekdays through April 19 at Luzerne County Community College.
Weed is the daughter of Michael and Lisa Weed, of Allentown.
