Tomorrow is the last day for Whitehall-Coplay Middle School’s annual canned food drive. Each homeroom competes for the most canned food items collected.

The drive is always a huge success, and the students and staff learn to reach out to their community during the collection. All the food collected will be donated to local food banks and Second Harvest to help the Whitehall community.

Whitehall High School’s Marching Zephyr Band is hosting Music in Movement March 18 at the high school. The first performance will be 11 a.m. The performers include groups from the Lehigh Valley and beyond. Come and see performances by twirlers, dancers, color guard groups and percussion ensembles.

There will be an admission cost.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Parents and guardians may begin the process for kindergarten registration. Access and complete the online registration by logging on to the district website, whitehallcoplay.org. Then select a date and time to meet with the enrollment secretary, Mrs. Michelle Khouri, to present all the required documentation.

To complete the registration, parents and guardians will be given an appointment to bring their child to meet with the guidance counselor or principal, school nurse, ESOL teacher and reading specialist for a brief assessment at Gockley Elementary School April 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7, with a snow make-up day of April 10.

Your child must be 5 years old before Sept. 1, 2017.

The end of the third marking period is approaching, April 3, and report cards will soon follow. Be sure to discuss any issues or concerns you may have with your child and your child’s teacher.
