Salisbury Township Police Department Detective Kevin J. Kress was honored for his completion of police leadership courses.

Kress received the Trilogy Award from the FBI-Law Enforcement Executive Development Association.

Salisbury Township Police Department Chief of Police Allen W. Stiles presented the award to Kress at the March 9 Salisbury Township Board of Commissioners meeting.

In 2016, Kress attended the FBI-LEEDA Supervisor Leadership Institute, Command Leadership Institute and Executive Leadership Institute. Attendance at each was for five days, held at several locations, including Allentown Police Academy and in Media, Delaware County and Toms River, N.J.

“This training is part of our career development for our department,” Stiles said. The training includes classes newly-appointed township police department corporals are to attend, Stiles said.

Kress was promoted to police department detective Jan. 26, 2012 and was hired as a township patrol officer July 5, 2005. Kress started his law enforcement career with the Lehigh University Police Department where he worked 16 years.

In the township police department, Kress is criminal investigation coordinator, community police coordinator and court liaison officer.

According to its website, the FBI-Law Enforcement Executive Development Association is a private, nonprofit organization and is not part of the Federal Bureau of Investigation or acting on its behalf.
