In Class 6A action, Emmaus beat District 1 fourth-place team Cheltenham, 68-67.
Matt Kachelries scored a game-high 24 points to get his career total to 990. His twin brother David added 19 points for the Hornets (21-6). Zach Sabol chipped in with 16 points.
Jack Clark led the Panthers with 32 points.
Emmaus, the fourth-place team from District 11, moves on to face District 3 champs Harrisburg (20-6) in the second round with the winner advancing to Saturday’s quarterfinals.
Parkland dropped it’s first-round game to District 3 third-place team Archbishop Ryan, 77-55.
The Trojans’ all-time leading scorer Sam Iorio poured in a team-high 22 points in his final high school game, while Jake Bartholomew added 14 points for Parkland and Michael Zeky chipped in with 10.
In Class 4A, Salisbury fell to District 2 champ Scranton Prep, 99-46. Jack Reichenbach scored a game-high 25 points for the Falcons (20-8).
District 11 Class 4A champ Bethlehem Catholic dropped its state opener to District 2 third-place team Greater Nanticoke, 58-56.
Justin Paz scored 16 points for the Golden Hawks (21-7) , while Will Melson added 13 points and Ryan Young chipped in with 11.
