Sacred Heart

Sacred Heart Hospital’s Behavioral Health Services is presenting Authentic Moment, a free exhibit, open daily 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. March 9-15 in the Assembly Room Second Floor Conference Center at Sacred Heart Hospital, 421 Chew St., Allentown.

The featured artwork was created by participants in Sacred Heart’s art therapy program, and honors the courage it requires to express pain, fear, joy, struggles and hope during their journey to recovery.

The artists, in various stages of recovery, allowed the creative process to be the vehicle of expression without fear of judgment or consequence.

Art therapy provides a forum in a safe setting where individuals are invited to use various art materials as authentically as possible to express themselves, address stressors, and explore feelings and defenses to engage techniques to promote grounding, focus, insight and empowerment.
