The Central City Project hosted a Mardi Gras themed community dinner Feb. 28.
The menu featured homemade jambalaya, gumbo and a pork dish, as well as multiple side dishes and desserts. Allentown Central Catholic High School student volunteers served as waiters and kitchen staff, providing a formal meal for people in need in nearby center city Allentown.
The Central City Project usually holds three or four community dinners every year, purchasing the food with funds raised through the sale of homemade Viking Salsa during football season. The dinners are hosted at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Allentown Central Catholic High School will host an open house 5 to 7 p.m. March 8. Tours of the school will be available and ACCHS clubs will have tables set up in Rockne Hall with information for prospective students and parents.
The winter sports awards Mass will be held 9:45 a.m. March 20. The awards portion will end at approximately 11:45 a.m. The varsity letter winners and most valuable players of the swimming and diving, wrestling, and basketball teams will be recognized, as well as the EPC scholar athlete nominee for each sport.
Tickets are now on sale for Central Catholic’s spring musical, “Anything Goes,” April 20, 21, and 22. Tickets can be purchased via a link on the school website. There are adult, student and senior prices.
