Sacred Heart
Sacred Heart Hospital’s Behavioral Health Services presents Authentic Moment, a free exhibit, open daily to the public 9 a.m.-8 p.m. March 9-15 in the assembly room second-floor conference center at Sacred Heart Hospital, 421 Chew St., Allentown.
The featured artwork was created by participants in Sacred Heart’s art therapy program, and honors the courage it requires to express pain, fear, joy, struggles and hope during their journey to recovery.
The artists, in various stages of recovery, allowed the creative process to be the vehicle of expression without fear of judgment or consequence.
Art therapy is just one of the services provided by Sacred Heart Hospital’s Behavioral Health team.
It provides a forum in a safe setting where individuals are invited to use various art materials as authentically as possible to express themselves, address stressors and explore feelings and defenses in order to engage techniques to promote grounding, focus, insight and empowerment.
