Bethlehem Catholic had 11 place-winners and earned the team title at Saturday’s District 11 Class 3 Wrestling Championships at Liberty High School.

The following is a team-by-team recap of the top finishers from Lehigh Valley Press-area teams. For more about your local teams pick up a copy of this week’s Press.

CLASS 3A

Bethlehem Catholic

The Golden Hawks had two champions, 10 regional qualifiers and 11 place winners to edge Nazareth 240-223 in the team points race.

Michael Labriola (170) and Niko Camacho (285) took home district titles, while teammates Jarred Papcsy (second place at 132), Ryan Zeiner (second place at 152), Jody Crouse (third place at 195), Luke Carty (third place at 145), Ryan Anderson (third place at 126), Kenny Herrmann (fourth place at 113), Zach Glenn (fourth place at 120) and Luca Frinzi (fifth place at 138) will join the district champs back at Liberty High School next weekend for the Class 3A Northeast Regional tournament.

Tavion Banks (160) took sixth place for Bethlehem Catholic.

Northampton

The Konkrete Kids took third place in the team points while crowning a pair of district champs.

Julian Chlebove (120) and KJ Fenstermacher (132) earned district titles, while teammates Cade Moisey (second place at 170), Dan Moran (second place at 138), Devon Britton (fourth place at 145), Sam Hanley (fourth place at 106), Michael Kistler (fifth place at 152) and Zackary Rooks (fifth place at 182) all advanced to regionals.

Logan Ninos (113) took sixth place for the Northampton.

Liberty

The Hurricanes took fourth place in the team points while sending seven grapplers to regionals.

Carlo Perguni (195) earned Liberty’s only district title for 2017, while teammates Anthony Emig (160), Damen Moyer (182) and Luke Werner (120) all got second place. Gunner Anglovich (170) and Matthew Maloney (106) took third place for the Hurricanes, while teammate Christian Gallagher (220) rounds out the regional-qualifying contingent with a fifth-place finish.

Jaret Figueroa (285) finished sixth at districts.

Freedom

The Patriots took sixth place as a team with five place-winners and four regional qualifiers, led by district champs Evan Callahan (220) and Thomas Bonilla (152).

Ryan Deloach (182) finished third and Jase Crouse (285) took fourth place to advance to next week’s regional tournament. Connor Huber (106) placed sixth for Freedom.

Parkland

The Trojans will send three wrestlers to next week’s regional tournament.

Nathan Feyrer (220) took second place, while teammates Zach Ortman (138) and Ethan Moscat (182) finished third and fourth, respectively.

Parkland placed 11th as a team.

Emmaus

The Hornets had four place-winner, including two regional qualifiers who both secured one more week of wrestling with a win in the fifth-place match.

Peyton Brown (106) and Reed Custer (160) both finished fifth and will advance for Emmaus, while Caden Wright (152) and Tyler Corpora (138) earned sixth-place medals.

Whitehall

Jaden Youwakim (120) was the Zephyrs’ only place-winner with a sixth-place showing at districts.

CLASS 2A

Northwestern

The Tigers’ Caleb Clymer (152) earned a district title with a 7-0 win over Pen Argyl’s Chase Anklam in the championship bout.

Northwestern’s Baily Wehr (120) got second place and Jackson Bernard (145) finished fourth to make it three Tigers heading to the Class 2A Southeast Regional tournament next week at Wilson West-Lawn High School.

Colin Rex (fifth place at 132) and Harrison Bernhard (sixth place at 113) also earned places at districts for the Tigers, which finished sixth as a team with 99 points.

Catasauqua

Four Rough Riders earned top-five finishes and three will move on to next week’s Class 2A regional tournament.

Benjamin Nosal (220) and Tyler Youssef (195) both earned second-place finishes, while Ryan Greene (145) took third place. All three will move on to regionals.

Catty’s Tyler Melendez (120) placed fifth at districts and the Rough Riders finished seventh in Class 2A team standings with 86 points.

Salisbury

With just two wrestlers taking the mat Friday and Saturday, the Falcons finished last in team points, however they did send one wrestler deep into the tournament.

Shane Simononis (220) took fourth place and qualified for next week’s regional tournament.
