UPPER MILFORD township supervisors

Upper Milford supervisors last week announced the appointment of Edward A. (“Bud”) Carter to the position of assistant manager.

Carter, chosen from 60 applicants, will start work in the township March 7. He replaces Tim Haas, who resigned in December.

Carter was public works director in Marlborough Township, Montgomery County, where he has been employed for 21 years.

Township Manager Daniel DeLong, who has announced his intention to retire by the end of this year, said he not only expects Carter to perform the same duties as Haas, but he hopes to have him take over the manager’s position when he (DeLong) retires.

Carter was not present at the supervisors’ meeting.
