Four seniors at Northampton Area High School were selected as Students of the Month and lauded by Northampton Exchange Club for their academic achievements, along with activities outside the classroom, at a Feb. 1 dinner meeting at Northampton Banquet & Event Center.
The Service to Youth program lauded Lyndsey Gallagher, Ethan Hartley, Carly Masonheimer and Benjamin Fickinger. Each was presented a Lamp of Knowledge plaque, certificate and pen.
“Tonight is a celebration of what the four students have done,” program Chairman Dr. Rodger Berg said.
He mentioned the seniors began their path to the success they are enjoying when they were very young, helped by caring parents, determination, hard work and goals they set.
Lyndsey Gallagher, January Girl of the Month, is part of National Honor Society, cross country (EPC first team), track and field (captain), Envirothon and indoor track. She is a Lehigh Valley Hospital Network teen summer volunteer.
Ethan Hartley, January Boy of the Month, is part of National Honor Society, Math Club, Chess Club, Ski Club and the ambulance corps. He is a candy striper and a volunteer firefighter.
Carly Masonheimer, February Girl of the Month, is part of National Honor Society, German Club, cross country, track and field, indoor track, GAAP program, Relay for Life (team captain) and Science Olympiad.
Benjamin Fickinger, February Boy of the Month, is part of National Honor Society, chorus, Bass Meisters, Select Ensemble and Drama Club. He received National Merit commendation on PSAT scores.
