Hanover woman heads TeenCentral

KidsPeace has named Thespina Godshalk, M.S., LPC, as Director of TeenCentral.

Godshalk will manage the organization’s web-based counseling resource for teens, TeenCentral.Net.

She will manage KidsPeace’s activities to redesign and relaunch the two sites in Spring 2017, and to promote their benefits.

She will be based at the organization’s administrative headquarters in Schnecksville, North Whitehall Township.

Godshalk of Hanover Township received a bachelor’s degree in experimental psychology from Moravian College and a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Chestnut Hill College. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and served as a therapist and clinician in community and residential mental health organizations before joining KidsPeace in 2012. Most recently, she served as senior clinical program and staff development specialist in KidsPeace’s organizational development and training department.

TeenCentral.Net, founded in 1998, is a prevention and intervention resource site for teens, providing information and support on issues important to them. The centerpiece of the service is the ability for teens to safely and anonymously post questions, concerns or description of their struggles, and receive a response from a trained counselor within 24 hours, free of charge.

In 2011, KidsPeace launched a companion site, ParentCentral.Net, to provide similar support and guidance to parents and caregivers.
