Parkland’s Superintendent Sniscak inducted into William Allen Class of ’17 Hall of Fame

Richard T. Sniscak, superintendent of the Parkland School District, was inducted into the William Allen High School Class of 2017 Hall of Fame Feb. 4 during a ceremony in the J. Milo Sewards Gymnasium.

Sniscak was the head football coach at William Allen High School from 1990-92.

He was head football coach of the William Allen Canaries for three seasons with an overall record of 21 wins, 12 losses, and 2 ties. In 1992, the Canaries under Sniscak captured the District XI AAAA Football Championship and finished that season with an overall record of 9-2-1, with the nine wins being most in William Allen school history (1959-present).

Under his leadership, Nate Hobgood-Chittick was named First Team All-State Defensive End and Hassan DeJesus was a Third Team All-State Defensive Back selection. Sniscak later became the head football coach of the Parkland Trojans, 1994-2000, where his teams amassed a 65-19 record, winning District XI AAAA Championships in 1996 and 1998; League Championships in 1996, 1999 and 2000; and Eastern Conference Championships in 1994, 1996 and 1997.

He is a two-time District XI Coach of the Year Recipient and has been inducted into the Athletic Halls of Fame for the Parkland School District, Lehigh Valley McDonald’s All-Star Football Game, Northeastern Pennsylvania Sports Hall, and Lehigh Valley Chapter of the National Football Foundation.

Sniscak spoke briefly with The Press at the ceremony about being inducted into the hall of fame.

“I am very honored and humbled to receive this recognition,” Sniscak said.

Other inductees included Les Kish, head football coach from 1970-76 and director of athletics from 1982-99; Kevin Ronalds, head football coach from 1997-06 and Amber Troxell, Class of 2009.
