Not many changes in Lowhill

Lowhill Township held its annual reorganization meeting on Jan. 3.

Richard Hughes will continue as chairman. George Wessner Jr. will serve as vice chairman and Robb Werley, the third member of the board will serve as treasurer.

Supervisors will be paid $50 per meeting, not to exceed $1,200 per year.

Jill Seymour will continue as township secretary.

Brian Carl will remain township administrator.

He also maintains his role as zoning officer, Northern Lehigh Planning Commission member, and advisory board member for Lehigh County Authority.

Keystone Consulting Engineers remain the township’s engineering firm and sewage enforcement officer with Chris Noll serving also an alternate zoning officer and health board official.

The road crew consists of foreman, Joseph Kalusky; assistant road foreman and crew member Joseph Plaksa; crew member Erick Lynch; and part-time crew member Glen Grim.

Judy Hoffman and Janet Henritzy remain as secretary and permit applicator, as well as recording secretary and alternate secretary for the planning commission.

Reappointed planning commission members are Larry Geiger and Larry Dorsch, with Terry Naugle on the zoning hearing board.

Carol Dorsch, Bob Martin, and Stacey Schappell remain as township auditors.

Barry Isett and Associates is again appointed as the township’s inspection firm and code enforcer.

The earned income tax collector will be HA Berkheimer and Associates.

Carol Betz was reappointed as property tax collector and Phyllis Breininger as deputy tax collector.

Township employees received a 3-percent cost of living raise for 2017.

Pension rate was set at 8 percent.

Benefits and holidays remain the same.

Zoning board meetings will be held 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month, as needed.

Board of supervisors meetings continue to be at 7:30 p.m. the first Thursday of the month with the exception of April and July, which will be on the second Thursdays.
