Lehigh Valley Beekeepers Association will have longtime beekeeper Bass Samaan display the revolutionary “Flow Hive” 7 p.m. Feb.16 in rooms 107/108 of Rothrock Library at Lehigh Carbon Commuunity College, Schnecksville.

This “honey on tap” system was developed in 2015 by the Australian father and son beekeeping team of Stuart and Cedar Anderson after more than a decade of experimentation.

The Flow Hive, with the potential to eliminate 95 percent of labor associated with honey harvesting, allows beekeepers to harvest honey without opening the hive and with minimal disturbance to the bees thereby reducing the likelihood of being stung.

The program is free and open to the public.
