Great expectations! Requests for baked good donations for the Allentown Soup Kitchen are being made for Feb. 13.
Baked goods decorated for Valentine’s Day and cherry pies will be gratefully accepted and may be dropped off in fellowship hall 6-7 p.m.
According to Heidelberg Church soup kitchen Assistant Coordinator Linda Hausamann, 135 hot meals were served recently to the hungry and homeless at the soup kitchen.
The meal included cheese sticks, chicken nuggets, tossed salad, soup, apples, fruit cup and delicious baked goods of chocolate desserts from faithful Heidelberg bakers.
Special thanks to the following volunteers of the day: Pastor Ginny Goodwin, Robin Koch, Shirley Boger, Colleen Andrews, Barbara Matthias, Eleanor and Ron Klevenhagen, Matthew Loch and Linda Hausamann.
