Pleasant Valley-Whitehall
The Zephyrs beat Pleasant Valley 59-21 in Saturday’s Eastern Pennsylvania Conference crossover matches at Easton Middle School.
The teams are in sixth place in their respective divisions and competed for in what was dubbed the 11th place match.
Whitehall won 10 bouts and took six of those by fall. The Zephs’ Luke Rex (106), Jovany Belman (120), Jaden Youwakim (126), Kai Clark (145), Nikitas Davis (152), Mawan Rajha (195) and Julio Diaz (285) all pinned their opponents, while Caleb Staub (113) earned a technical fall. Teammate Colby Frey (170) won by decision, while Noah Rex (132) and John Kaintz (160) picked up forfeit wins.
Results from other crossover matches were not received by the Press.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Salisbury-Palmerton
The Falcons beat Palmerton 58-28.
Salisbury’s Caylin Meikrants scored a game-high 19 points for Salisbury, including four three-pointers. Kelly Gardus had 13 points for the Falcons, while Alicia Burkhardt and Sarah McGee chipped in with 11 and nine points, respectively.
Linnaea Leister scored 13 points for Salisbury.
Central Dauphin East-Parkland
Parkland beat Central Dauphin East 58-53 in a nonleague game.
The Trojan trio of Julia Buchman (16 points), Emily Piston (13 points) and Kassidy Stout (13 points) accounted for most of Parkland’s offense in the win, while Rachel Medlar added eight points.
Lehighton-Catasauqua
The Indians beat Catasauqua 40-31 in a nonleague game.
The Rough Riders were led by Kenzie Bradley and Jade Biviano with 11 points apiece.
Lehighton’s Skyler Faust scored a game-high 16 points.
