Toomey begins second term

Pennsylvania Sen. Pat Toomey took the oath of office Jan. 4 administered by former Vice President Joe Biden in Washington, D.C.

Toomey, a resident of Lower Milford Township, commented following the ceremony.

“It is an honor to serve the people of Pennsylvania as their senator,” Toomey said. “I am grateful for the support I received from across our state and humbled by the responsibilities of this office.

“We have many challenges to address and much work to do to improve the lives of all Americans.

“We also have a tremendous opportunity before us. With the elections now in the rear view mirror, I hope Congress and the incoming president can focus on governing and working together on a variety of important issues.”
