Weisenberg readies for new year

Weisenberg Township supervisors appointed Robert Milot as chairman of the board with Linda Gorgas named vice chairperson during the Jan. 3 reorganization meeting.

Anthony Werley was again appointed roadmaster with James Werley serving as assistant roadmaster.

All meetings will be conducted 7 p.m. on the second Monday of each month.

Brian Carl was again named secretary with Janet Henritzy as assistant secretary.

Jeff Strauss was appointed treasurer.

The board, along with the secretary, will manage the pension board with the secretary serving as plan administrator and the chairman of the board serving as trustee.

Wages and other benefits were established for employees.

They also will receive 10 paid holidays.

The township office will now be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays.

Carl, who was named vacancy board chairman, will serve as zoning enforcement officer with the alternate being Keystone Consulting Engineers.

Keystone Consulting Engineers will also be the township’s engineering firm and health officer.

The law firm of Norris, McLaughlin and Marcus, PA, of South Whitehall, was named township solicitor.

New Tripoli Bank will be used as the township’s repository for its funds.

Stephen A. McGlynn and Stephen Schaffer were placed on the planning commission and Robert J. Elbich will sit on the zoning hearing board. Lori Ann Wukitsch will be the alternate member.

Asa Hughes was named to the building appeals board, and Linda Gorgas will represent the board on the Northwestern Recreation Commission with Thomas Wehr representing the township on the Weisenberg-Lowhill Historical Society.

Sewage Enforcement Officer will be Christopher Noll of Keystone Consulting Engineers with Carl as alternate.

Barry Isett and Associates will be the building inspection agency for the township.

Carl will be the liaison to the Lehigh Valley Insurance Co-op along with serving as open records officer and township representative on the EIT Collection Committee.

Jeff Strauss will be alternate on the EIT Committee.

H.A. Berkheimer Inc will be the earned income tax and local services tax collector.
