The Woman’s Club of Whitehall has named Gabriela Ochoa as its Girl of the Month for December 2016.

A senior at Whitehall High School, she is the daughter of Elias Ochoa and Patricia Jaramillo, of Whitehall.

Ochoa has earned high honor roll each semester at WHS.

She is a member of Human Rights Club, German Club, Outdoors Club, Model UN, London Club and Key Club.

Ochoa also is a member of National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta and Science National Honor Society.

She served on the Earth Day committee for Science National Honor Society.

Her other activities include participating in the WHS Mini-Thon and volunteering at the MS Walk, Raker Center, Sacred Heart Hospital and Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center.

Ochoa plans to attend University of Chicago to major in biology or biochemistry, then apply to medical school to become a physician.
