Upper Macungie Police

Upper Macungie Township police say a 59-year-old man of the 7100 block of Haasadahl Road, Upper Macungie Township, reported a projector and DVD player were stolen from his home sometime between 11 a.m. and 8:45 p.m. on Dec. 23, 2016.

Upper Macungie Township police allege Ricky V. Scott, 27, of Allentown and a 21-year-old woman from Trexlertown were involved in a domestic dispute 1:05 p.m. Dec. 25, 2016 in the 7000 block of Lincoln Lane, Upper Macungie Township.

Police say as a result of their investigation, Scott was arrested and charged with simple assault and harassment.

Police say a 25-year-old woman from the 1100 block of Newtown Road, Upper Macungie Township, reported Dec. 24, 2016, someone made an unauthorized purchase using her credit card.

The woman notified her credit card company and did not incur a loss, police say.

Police say a 73-year-old man of the 1300 block of Windmill Lane, Upper Macungie Township, reported 4:44 p.m. Dec. 21, 2016, a cellphone charger was stolen between 1:57 p.m. and 3 p.m. the same day from a package delivered to his home.

Upper Macungie Township police say Lenora L. Ruth, 45, of Topton, was driving a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee when it was struck by an oncoming vehicle, 7:13 a.m. Dec. 29, 2016 on Hamilton Boulevard, Upper Macungie Township.

According to police, Ruth was eastbound on Hamilton Boulevard and in the left turn lane at Schantz Road behind a pickup truck whenher Jeep was struck.

According to police, Ruth said she did not realize Schantz Road was blocked with flares until the truck moved out of the way.

Officer Robert Djevharian was stopped on Schantz Road at Hamilton Boulevard, investigating a prior crash.

Schantz Road was shut down due to slippery road conditions.

Police say Ruth stated while she was stopped in the left turn lane, the oncoming truck, a Dodge Durango, lost control and its rear-end kicked out to the left, crossing into the oncoming lane and struck her left front quarter panel.

Ruth also said the driver of Durango pulled over in the area of Folk Road and two people got out and looked at the damage, before leaving the scene, traveling west on Hamilton Boulevard, police say.

Police say the driver of the truck is described as a white female, 5 feet, 5 inches to 5 feet, 7 inches, medium build with shoulder length straight blonde hair.

The passenger is described as a very skinny build male, approximately 5 feet, 7 inches tall wearing a hooded sweatshirt.

Police say when Ruth returned home to Topton, she contacted police at 9:21 a.m.

Vehicle parts on the road and a piece wedged inside the Jeep’s left front tire well indicated the truck was gold in color, police say.

According to police, the crash was captured on Officer Djevharian’s dashcam and will be reviewed for further information.

Ruth, who was wearing her seat belt was not injured, police say.

Police say a 42-year-old woman from the 8900 block of Pathfinder Road, Upper Macungie Township, reported her Christmas lights were cut on Dec. 22, 2016.

In a separate incident, police say a 41-year-old male resident of the 1600 block of Thorndale Drive, Upper Macungie, reported 12:25 p.m. Dec. 30, 2016, that sometime between Dec. 24 and Dec. 30, 2016, a string of Christmas lights on his front lawn were cut.
