Allentown AARP Chapter #5415 will meet noon at St. Timothy’s Church, 140 S. Ott St., Allentown. There will be a program on the National Alliance on Mental Illness. Non-members and guests are welcome. Bring a non-perishable food item for the Allentown Food Bank. Note: If Allentown School District closes for a snow day, the meeting is cancelled. Friday Social Line Dance at Lehigh Valley Active Life, 1633 W. Elm St., Allentown, 1 to 2 p.m. beginner; 2 to 4 p.m. intermediate. This class is for beginner dancers with some dance experience and those who have attended sessions before. Dances are reviewed and also new and popular dances are taught. Karaoke, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Lehigh Valley Active Life, 1633 W. Elm St., Allentown, led by host Bobby James. Expect fun and entertainment and have a blast singing along to favorite tunes. There is a charge.

Lower Macungie Garden Club meeting and program 1 to 3 p.m. at the Lower Macungie Community Center, Room A, 3450 Brookside Road, Macungie. The program title is “Woodcraft of Birdhouses and Feeders using Recycled Wood” presented and demonstrated by Jack Jones of JJ’s Woodcraft. The public is welcome.
