Students at Allentown Central Catholic High School had a very busy month of December, from sporting events to Christmas concerts to service projects.
The Central City Project held its second annual “Snack and Shop’ Dec. 21.
The National Honor Society toy drive and Central City Project clothing drive supplied hundreds of items for the homeless and needy of center city Allentown. Baked goods and hot chocolate were also provided, helping to spread the Christmas spirit to all the people who benefited from the event.
Although early in the swim season, senior Gabe Castano has already broken multiple records, including the Blue Mountain pool records for the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle, the Liberty pool record for the 100 freestyle and the Nazareth pool record for the 200 freestyle. His time at the Nazareth pool of 1:45.86 also broke the Central Catholic school record for the 200 freestyle. Castano is committed to swim Division I next year at Penn State University.
There is a new free app now available in the app store called “Allentown Central Catholic.” This app gives users mobile-friendly access to all things ACCHS, including the school website, grade portal and even the cafeteria menu.
Central Catholic students will return to school Jan. 3, 2017.
