WELCOMING THE CHRIST CHILD

The Live Bethlehem Christmas Pageant, the re-enactment of historical and biblical events surrounding the birth of Christ, marked its 38th annual presentation Dec. 10 and 11 at the Rose Garden Park band shell in northwest Bethlehem. The colder weather affected the turnout to see the admission-free presentation. A cast of 100 costumed participants and live animals, including camels, performed the popular presentation, a highlight of the Christmas City’s holiday season schedule of events.

The Chancel Choir of Bethany United Church of Christ provided live music and Bill Schellhaas narrated the unique production. The pageant committee is looking forward to its 40th anniversary in two years.
