An Allentown man has been charged in relation to four bank robberies.
Anthony Tillman, 47, of Allentown, has been charged with four counts of robbery, a felony of the first degree. He was taken into custody Dec. 16 by Allentown police and arraigned at Central Booking.
Tillman allegedly robbed four banks within the past four months.
The first robbery occurred at the First Niagara Bank, 861 N. Route 100, Upper Macungie Township, Aug. 18.
The second robbery happened at the BB&T Bank, 1130 Chestnut St., Emmaus, Dec. 6, followed by the robbery of the BB&T Bank, 1139 Hamilton St., Dec. 12.
On Dec. 14, the Santander Bank, 1240 Third St., Whitehall, was robbed.
District Attorney Jim Martin commended the Allentown, Emmaus, Upper Macungie and Whitehall Police Departments for their work on this case and said the investigation is ongoing.
As in every criminal case, the fact an arrest has occurred or a complaint has been filed is merely an accusation; and the defendant, Anthony Tillman, is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
