Sports Roundup: Roughies top Tigers in double OT

Catasauqua beat Northwestern in overtime in Colonial League boys basketball action. The Lady Tigers’ topped the Rough Riders in girls action, while Salisbury swept Northern Lehigh on the hardwood. In wrestling, Bethlehem Catholic and Parkland cruised to win.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Northwestern-Catasauqua

Catatasauqua used the long ball to erase an early deficit and top Northwestern 71-69 in double overtime.

Andrew Brett scored 22 points and hit six of the Rough Riders’ 15 three-pointers. Colin Hawk and Cullen Bond both scored 15 points for Catty (1-2 overall, 1-1 Colonial League).

Robert Seyfried had 24 points for the Tigers (1-1 overall, 1-1 Colonial League), while Samuel Yadush finished with 21 points, hitting five three-pointers.

Jaxon Costello led four Falcons in double figures with a game-high 22 points. Jack Reichenbach and Ryan Slutsky each scored 15 points while Blake Jones added 13 for Salisbury (2-1 overall, 1-1 Colonial League)

Brandon Hess and Joe Egan scored 14 points apiece for the Bulldogs (1-2 overall, 0-1 Colonial League).
