A woman who was fatally injured in a chain reaction vehicle crash in Lower Macungie Township died of multiple blunt force trauma, according to the Lehigh County Coroner.
Fay A. Parry, 81, of Allentown, was a passenger in a car driven by Michael George, 57, of New Mexico.
According to State Police at Fogelsville, the vehicle driven by George was among those involved in a six-vehicle accident on Route 222 South, approximately 0.2 miles north of Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, around 2 p.m. Dec. 5.
The vehicle Parry was in was struck from the rear and the manner of death was ruled an accident by the Lehigh County Coroner following an autopsy Dec. 6.
The accident occurred when a commercial vehicle driven by Gary M. Pellegrino, 65, of White Plains, N.Y., allegedly failed to stop for slowing and stopped traffic at the traffic light at Krocks Road. The vehicle was southbound on Route 222 at the time of the crash.
Others were injured in the accident.
