Whitehall-Coplay School Board held its reorganization meeting Dec. 6.
During the meeting, board member Arthur Taschler Jr. became the temporary president due to a nomination by Treasurer William Leiner Jr., with no members opposed.
Taschler then opened up nominations for president.
Board member Owen Eberhart Jr. nominated current President Wayne Grim. No other nominations were made, and all members voted in favor of Grim as president.
Grim then opened up nominations for vice president.
Leiner nominated Tina Koren, and Taschler nominated Lloyd Schafer. In a roll-call vote, all present members voted for Schafer as vice president.
Former Vice President Robert Kolb was absent from the meeting.
After the reorganization meeting, a special school board meeting was held.
The board approved the article of agreement with Lehigh Career & Technical Institute for LCTI’s financing plan in the maximum amount of $49,000,000.
Business Manager Michael Malay told The Press, after the meeting, the amount the district will contribute is based on market value and other districts also are contributing to the cost.
