Pates, Lady Hornets pick up wins on the hardwood

The Freedom boys and Emmaus girls basketball teams picked up their first wins of the season Saturday, while the Catasauqua and Salisbury girls teams fell to a pair of Schuylkill League opponents.

Freedom-Palisades

Nicholas King scored 25 points to lead the Patriots past the Pirates 85-48 in the consolation game of the Jeff Dailey Memorial Tournament. Teammates Lewis Hargett and Tyler Muniz scored 13 and 10 points, respectively, for Freedom (1-1).

Jack Salva paced the Pirates (0-2) with 19.
