Dec. 1

Allentown AARP Chapter #5415 will meet noon at St. Timothy Church, 140 S. Ott St., Allentown. New members of the last year will be honored. The Lehigh Valley Pops Orchestra will perform. Dec. 2

Emmaus will hold its annual First Friday with a number of events planned such as extended store hours, promotions and refreshments. The Emmaus Historical Society Museum will be open 4 to 9 p.m. with Christmas displays, expanded train putz and trolley and refreshments. Emmaus Moravian Church Carolers will sing on the front porch of the Emmaus Historical Society 6:30 p.m. For more information, contact 610-928-0070.

The Friends of the Emmaus Public Library will hold its eighth annual holiday book sale and reception in the Margaret Knoll Gardner Room of the library. Held in cooperation with the Emmaus Main Street Partners holiday celebration, the sale will feature pre-enjoyed books for all interests and ages in gift-worthy condition at budget-pleasing prices. The book sale and reception starts 6 p.m. and runs until 8 p.m. The Emmaus Public Library is located at 11 E. Main St., Emmaus. An Emmaus High School music ensemble will play seasonal music. Shoppers can sample wine, cheese and punch.

Dec. 3

Old-Fashioned Christmas in Emmaus 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Numerous events planned. Emmaus Historical Society will partner with Emmaus Moravian Church to give free walking tours of the 12 historical sites. Registration is requested by calling 610-966-6591.

Free community dinner at Bethel Bible Fellowship Church, 418 Elm St., Emmaus. Dinner begins 4 p.m. followed by a Christmas program. Register by calling 610-965-2682.

Dec. 4

Elvis impersonator Jeff Krick will perform a Christmas show 3 p.m. at Emmaus Moravian Church, 146 Main St., Emmaus. There is a cost for tickets.

Alburtis Holiday Festival 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Event includes breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus, cooking baking contest, photos with Santa and a tree lighting ceremony 5:30 p.m. Horse drawn carriage rides will be available 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. For tickets, call 610-966-2095.

Dec. 6

The Crazy Quilters Quilt Guild will meet 7 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, 3461 Cedar Crest Blvd., Emmaus. Doors open 6:30 p.m. The program on modern and modern/traditional quilts will be presented by Jessica Skultety. Visitors are welcome. There will be a charge for visitors. Dec. 10

Cookie Walk at Old Zionsville UCC Church, 5981 Fountain Road, Old Zionsville, 8 a.m. to noon. A light lunch will also be available. For more information call 610-966-5115.

Create a tradition with children’s Christmas shopping in the Liberty Bell Museum’s unique Little Shoppers Village including inexpensive gifts for all family members. Helpers are on hand to assist children with their purchases and to gift package items. Event will be held 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Liberty Bell Museum, 622 W. Hamilton St., Allentown. Macungie Holiday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with holiday events throughout the borough and the businesses. A rain or shine event, most activities are inside. Trolley transportation will take visitors around the borough.

Santa and Mrs. Claus visit the Emmaus Historical Society Museum 2 to 4:30 p.m. Santa and Mrs. Claus will give an orange and a box of chocolates to children.

Dec. 11

Governor Wolf Historical Society will present its third annual Christmas candlelight concert 7 p.m. on the society’s campus, 6600 Jacksonville Road, Bath. Keith Brintzenhoff will perform a lively repertoire of English as well as Pennsylvania-German music. Refreshments will be served. Brintzenhoff plays autoharp, guitar, dulcimer and banjo. He is founder of the Lyons Fiddle Festival and The Kutztown Folk Music Society. Dec. 14

Emmaus Historical Society covered dish dinner and Christmas party 6 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church parish hall. Those planning to attend should call the museum at 610-966-6591.
