Richard M. Cole, 96, of Whitehall, died Nov. 24, 2016. He was the husband of Katherine Jean (Behrens) Cole for 61 years.

Born in New York City, he was a son of the late Rufus and Edna (Gumble) Cole.

He grew up in Michigan and New York and graduated from McBurney School and Ohio Weslyan University.

He was, for his entire work career, an accountant for General Electric in both Bridgeport, Conn., and Allentown.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Emmaus.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Pam and her husband Don Kienz of Exton and Barbara and her husband Ron Schroeder of Centennial, Colo.; a son, Robert and his wife Nancy of Lakewood, Colo.; and seven grandchildren, Eric, Steven, Ryan, Ben, Haley, Ciara and Emily.

He was predeceased by a brother, Gilbert.

There will be a memorial service 10 a.m. Dec. 2 at Zentz Community Center, 3020 Fellowship Drive, Whitehall.
