King’s College

Alex Getz, of Northampton and a student at King’s College, recently attended the college’s annual McGowan Business Forum.

The 12th annual McGowan Business Forum, which was held recently in Wilkes-Barre, provided the students mentoring and networking opportunities with King’s alumni and other professionals, followed by a dinner and the presentation of the third annual Father James Lackenmier, C.S.C., Award for Achievement and Leadership.

The forum’s location rotates between Philadelphia, New York and Wilkes-Barre.

The William G. McGowan School of Business is accredited by AACSB International, which represents the highest standard of achievement for business schools worldwide.

Temple University

The White House Internship Program recently announced the participants for the fall 2016 session.

Temple University student Elivonne Mendez, of Whitehall, was named as a White House intern. The mission of the program is to make the White House accessible to future leaders around the nation and to prepare those devoted to public service for future leadership opportunities. A White House internship provides a unique opportunity to gain valuable professional experience and build leadership skills. Interns work in one of several White House departments, including the Domestic Policy Council, National Economic Council, Office of Cabinet Affairs, Office of Communications, Office of Digital Strategy, Office of the First Lady, Office of Legislative Affairs, Office of Management and Administration, Office of Political Strategy and Outreach, Office of Presidential Correspondence, Presidential Personnel Office, Office of Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs, Office of Scheduling and Advance, Office of the Vice President, Office of the White House Counsel and President’s Commission on White House Fellowships.
