LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Pip the Mouse is back! And so is Hess’s!

This year the Liberty Bell Museum’s holiday exhibit will showcase sculptures designed by Patrick Hulse, a Rhode Island based artist with roots in the Lehigh Valley.

This will be the premier showing of the sculptures in the Lehigh Valley, each depicting a scene from the former Hess’s Department Store.

While growing up, hearing stories about the store always fascinated Hulse, who created the sculptures based on pictures, stories and family mementos.

The exhibit will also feature photographs from the personal collection of Wolfgang Otto, vice president of visual merchandising at Hess’s Department Store.

This exhibit runs until Dec. 31 at the Liberty Bell Museum, 622 W. Hamilton St., Allentown.

On Nov. 25 the museum will kick off the official Pip: The Mouse Before Christmas puppet show season.

Shows will be 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and at 2:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

A Pennsylvania German Christmas tree and putz with historic buildings from around the Lehigh Valley will also be featured exhibits during the holidays.

Group tours and performances are available by appointment.

There is a small admission fee Members may attend for free.

There will also be free public shows Dec. 11.
