LOWHILL TOWNSHIP Lehigh Valley Zoo offering Winter Light Spectacular

Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, will have its annual pancake and sausage breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus 9-11 a.m. Dec. 17.

Church members will participate in the nationwide Wreaths Across America program noon Dec. 17.

The ceremony will include a military flag presentation, 21-gun salute by Allen O. Delke Post 16, Slatington, and laying of remembrance wreaths on the graves of all veterans buried in Morgenland Cemetery.

Join them to honor and remember all veterans past and present.

Wreath sponsorships are available for a cost per wreath or a monetary contribution.

Christ’s Church at Lowhill, 465 Lowhill Church Road, New Tripoli, will present its annual Lowhill Lights of Wonder at 5:30 p.m., 6:15 p.m., 7 p.m., and 7:45 p.m. Dec. 17-21 and Dec. 26-30.

A short Christmas carol sing-along will take place each night at 5:15 p.m.

There will be a special Christmas Eve show 6:30 p.m. Dec. 24.

Lehigh Valley Zoo, 5150 Game Preserve Road, Schnecksville, and Christmas Décor are offering the third season of the Winter Light Spectacular between 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays until Jan. 1, 2017.

Guests will experience eight distinctly-themed display areas, popular holiday movies, a new Grinch Whoville setting and more.

Joanna Bertalan from Walt Disney World, Fla., will portray Elsa on the Zoo’s new ice stage.

She will sing and amaze visitors Nov. 26, 27 and Dec. 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 15, 16, 21, 23, 30.

There will also be church choirs walking around the zoo, signing favorite holiday carols on select dates during the Winter Light Spectacular.

Stop by the Bison Auditorium and have a photo taken with Santa Claus.

Treat stations throughout the Zoo will feature s’mores, hot chocolate, hot dogs, sausage and more.

There will be no showings Christmas Eve and Christmas.

In an effort to accommodate an increase in attendance this year, the Zoo has partnered with Lehigh Carbon Community College to provide parking and shuttle service from its Lot B parking lot.

Dates of service are Nov. 25 and 26, and Dec. 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17 and 23.

Trip times will be continuous, 5:30-10:30 p.m., with two school bus shuttles running on staggering time frames.
