Theater Project to feature hauntingly good show by Charlie Adams

Reading Theater Project is hosting a Berks County, haunting themed, open mic night featuring special guest Charlie Adams 7-9 p.m. Nov. 27 at the West Reading Tavern, 606 Penn Ave., West Reading.

RTP will present stories from local actors, writers, and spoken word artists before inviting audience members to jump up and share theirs. Admission is free.

Ghost stories open mic night is being presented as an introduction to next year’s production of “Dead of Winter: Berks Haunting.”

The production will be performed at West Reading’s Olympian Ballroom in January and February 2017 with a limited two weekend run.

The Reading Theater Project’s mission is to create a new theater inspired by Reading and greater Berks County.

As such, “Dead of Winter” will be a performance piece encompassing haunting activity in Berks from the 1700s to the 1950s.

It will include scenarios with forgotten people of Berks such as the Lenni Lenape, Quakers, abolitionists, slaves and beatniks.

Ghost stories open mic night continues Reading Theater Project’s goal of bringing the Reading and Berks community together for unique theater experiences.
