In a moving Veterans Day program Nov. 11 at Harry S Truman Elementary School, students provided a tribute to those who have served our country.
Student lighthouse team leaders had key roles in the program.
Guests were greeted by students Brooke Bleam, Sydney Foulke, Emilia Ortiz, Taylor Wagner and Raegan Treskot.
Masters of Ceremonies were Anthony To and Mason Dickert.
The technology coordinator was Breydan Guri.
Program distributors were Tatiayanna Valera, Andrew Nemeh, Zachary O’Steen and Serenity Wakefield.
Ushers were Jacob Watson, Grayson Gnall and Colton Wasilewski.
HST Principal Zachary Brem welcomed veterans and families to the program and thanked all members of the armed forces for their service.
Following the Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of the “Star Spangled Banner,” all students participated in the program by singing songs, creating videos, reciting poems and creating and presenting poppies to the distinguished guests.
Poppies were made by the first grade students and presented to each veteran in attendance by the fifth grade students.
A reception was held immediately after the program for veterans and adult family members to enjoy cake and coffee.
