Fall sports awards ceremony scheduled Nov. 18

The week of Nov. 7 to 11 was Senior Week at Allentown Central Catholic High School.

A senior class Mass started off Monday morning, followed by college shirt day Tuesday. Wednesday was “Color Day,” where seniors dressed head to toe in a specific color assigned to their homeroom. The quirky “Decades Day” was held Thursday and Friday’s “Costume Day” featured seniors masquerading in themed groups such as Toy Story, the Four Seasons and Spongebob. Evening activities included a scavenger hunt, Senior Olympics and a movie night; the sole morning event was a breakfast tailgate in the parking lot.

In addition to the senior festivities, on Nov. 8 the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival’s WillPower tour, in partnership with DeSales University, brought “Hamlet” to ACCHS. The entire student body attended the performance in Rockne Hall, followed by a question and answer session.

Fall sports awards will be presented Nov. 18 in Rockne Hall, following school Mass at 9:45 a.m. Varsity letters and MVP trophies will be awarded to members of the soccer, football, girls tennis, field hockey, cross country and girls volleyball teams. A short reception will follow for “Most Value Players” and senior athletes and their families.

The Kairos XIII senior retreat will leave for the Jesuit retreat house in Wernersville Nov. 20 and return Nov. 23.
