Bruce C. Reimer
Bruce Cortlain Reimer, 83, formerly of Macungie, died Nov. 10, 2016, in the Phoebe Home, Allentown. He was the husband of Gail V. (Schalter) Reimer. They were married 34 years on Sept. 4, 2016. Born in Nazareth, he was the son of the late Elvin and Frances (Roth) Reimer.
A 1950 graduate of Nazareth High School, he received his bachelor’s degree in economics and business administration from Moravian College in 1954 and his Master’s of Business Administration degree from Penn State University in 1956.
He was a CPA with Deloitte Touche in Philadelphia and Allentown 22 years and a partner-director with Buckno Lisicky & Company, CPAs 17 years, retiring in 1997.
He was a member of the Pennsylvania and American Institutes of Certified Public Accountants and of the Institute of Management Accountants having served as president of their Lehigh Valley chapters.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was a member, former treasurer and council member at Christ Lutheran Church, Allentown.
A 32nd Degree Mason, he was a member of Jordan-Martin Lodge #673, Lehigh Consistory Valley of Allentown and Rajah Temple, Reading.
As a member of the Kiwanis Club of Allentown, he had served on the board of directors and as treasurer of the Kiwanis Foundation of Allentown.
He is survived by his wife; children, Michael and his wife Megan, of Collegeville, Diane, of Philadelphia, Linda and her husband Robert Wentling, of Center Valley; stepchildren, Tanishia and her husband Larry Weinsheimer, of Montana, Donna and her husband Ronald Christman, of Allentown, Susan and her husband Donald Maurer, of Allentown; sister, Judith and her husband Richard Hunt, of Bethlehem; sister-in-law, Karen, of Nazareth; grandchildren, Kelsie, Carly, Joshua, Alexander, Judson, Colin, Jordan, Kyle, Zachary, Joshua, Nicholas and Sadie. He was predeceased by a brother, David.
Contributions may be made in his memory to Christ Lutheran Church, 1245 Hamilton St., Allentown, 18102.
Arrangements were made by the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, Allentown.
